Tour / Transit Bus Operator

This is a four week program consisting of field and classroom training totaling 95 hours. This training includes DOT Safety Rules and Regulations, State Regulations and proficiency development in the skills required to obtain the Class B License.

Classroom training includes topics such air brakes, passenger endorsement and DMV general knowledge preparation material.

Field training includes both observation and behind the wheel time. The field training consists of driving and training areas that includes a combination of highway, city, and heavy traffic driving with emphasis on defensive driving techniques. Backing, safety and emergency procedures are also practiced extensively. The training also consists of DMV skills practicing, DMV road testing and job search techniques.

Placement Opportunities:
Graduates who successfully complete the course may seek a employment as Transit Operators, Tour Bus Drivers, Limousine Drivers, ParaTransit Bus Drivers, and Class B Delivery Drivers.

Class Time:
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 2:00 pm
